Seedance 2.5
Seedance 2.5 is ByteDance's newest video flagship, built for long single shots with reference control and an optional generated soundtrack. Reach for it when one clip has to carry a whole scene.
Added August 2026. Included on every plan.
Why this one
What makes Seedance 2.5 different
- The longest single take hereIt runs far past the usual five second clip, so a beat does not have to be cut into pieces.
- First and last frame controlPin where a shot starts and where it lands, and the model fills the movement between them.
- Reference images for consistencyFeed it stills of a character, a product or a location and it holds them across the shot.
- Audio you can switch offGenerated sound is a toggle, not a tax, so silent plates for edit are one click away.
- Ultrawide and vertical in one modelThe aspect list runs from square through vertical to cinematic, so the same prompt serves every placement.
- A very large prompt budgetLong, structured direction survives intact instead of being trimmed to a caption.

Technique
Prompt tips
- Direct the camera firstOpen with the shot: framing, lens feel, and how the camera moves. It follows camera language closely.
- Then the subject, then the worldSubject, action, setting, light, in that order. The model weights what comes first.
- Use references for identity, not for styleReference stills lock who or what is on screen. Style is better described in words.
- Say what should NOT moveNaming the static parts of a frame is the cheapest way to stop background drift on a long take.
- Ask for silence when you want silenceWith audio on it will invent a bed. If the edit has its own track, turn audio off.
Mechanism
How Seedance 2.5 works
You give it a prompt, optionally a first and last frame, and optionally reference stills. It plans the motion between those anchors and renders the clip in one pass rather than stitching shorter pieces, which is why the camera move stays continuous and why a longer duration costs proportionally more. Audio, when enabled, is generated alongside the picture rather than added afterwards.
